PHOTO PRINTING FAQ
Where should I get my photos printed?
Try these top-quality, Canadian-owned options:
- Black’s: Easy online ordering, great quality, afforable and a Canadian choice. Perfect for holiday cards.
- Pikto: Canadian-owned with top quality products. Discounts often available, with special offers for new account holders.
- Vistaprint: Affordable and quick, another solid Canadian option. Ideal for holiday cards, photo albums and business marketing.
Is there anything I should avoid when ordering photo prints?
Always skip options like "auto-edit," "auto-correct," or "auto-enhance" as they might add filters that mess with the photo’s look. Matte paper is a better choice than glossy since glossy tends to show dust and fingerprints more. If you want to keep your prints in perfect condition, wear cotton gloves when handling them.
Where should I buy my photo frames?
Check out Homesense, Michael’s, Amazon, and Ikea. Avoid dollar stores due to lower quality. Facebook Marketplace or thrift stores are great for budget-friendly options.
I want to make a photo album—what company should I use?
My favourite company is Pikto, a Canadian-owned business. Their leather layflat photo album is my go-to choice. Their site and editor are very user-friendly, making it easy to create a beautiful album. They also offer prints on canvas and gun-metal frames, and you can even design your own frame on most printing sites. Plus, creating an account often comes with a great discount for your first order.
